Living in an apartment from King Rentals has been the BEST experience I have ever had renting from anyone! If there was ever a problem they would fix it right away. I have a basement apartment that was often very humid in the summer. I asked them if they could do anything and the brought me a dehumidifier! Problem instantly solved! Also I’ve got some of the nicest neighbors. They are always polite and considerate! Lindsey, one of the property managers has been such a pleasure to work with along with Zack! If you’re ever looking for a nice clean place to live for a reasonable price, please give them a shout!!! I highly recommend them!!

This company is very unprofessional, the apartment building was constantly disgusting. They never had anyone clean the inside hallways/stairs. You couldn't get a hold of the landlord to save your life. Then they would show up at random times and come into your apartment without permission. These people were a nightmare to rent from and I URGE you to seek elsewhere. Not to mention the hassle we went through just to get our deposit back, dozens of phone calls, emails, and threats of lawsuits. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother looking these peoples way.

Great staff. I lived in the St. Nick for over three years. It's moderately priced and a nice location. Upon leaving i made sure the apartment was clean and received 90% of my security deposit back, which was fair. They are fair and not sketchy at all like some posters have said. Though it is true Kit doesnt return phonecalls he is still a nice guy. <-- I ran into him all the time in the lobby- was always pleasant. His dad Mitch however is an awesome dude! Def guy you would have a beer with! The maintenance staff were professional and courteous. The office staff were the same. I really enjoyed my experience living here. Of course i payed my bills on time and didn't destroy their property, which might be why i have such glowing things to say about them and a few don't. They treated me fairly and i treated their property well and kept my end of the lease. If you are a staffer coming to Springfield this is an excellent place to live, close to most state offices and across the street from the train station for those Chicago trips. Decent shopping, restaurants, bars etc in the area. All within walking distance.

We started out ok this time last year, (Feb. 21), until we realized how nosy our upstairs neighbors were and how thin these walls are. Between fights and arguing, “get-togethers” and loud music, we shortly contacted Sue in the office about our concerns and we were told there were numerous complaints but a resolution was never given to us. As time moved on, we’ve had little to no contact with anyone in the office, (which started to cause red flags). Then, in Sept. the owner is “told by Springfield PD that he has too many cars in his parking lot not registered to the buildings,” (mine being one of them). He then has his goons put bright Orange stickers on the car stating it would be towed if the registration wasn’t fixed. Took me and my girl $2k to get everything done, which was more on my part for the circumstances, but still an inconvenience. Now, here it is Feb again and no lease renewal documentation is given nor has anyone from the office tried to contact my girl or I, but, because of Winter Storm Landon, I got my car stuck in the parking lot. Now instead of them helping me move my car back in it’s spot, they have my car towed. I’m furious at this point, because I now have to pay $150/tow, $30/day-storage and an admin fee of $92. None of his workers wanted to give me his info because he’s a coward and doesn’t want to deal with any conflict directly, my girl does the necessary research and we get his contact info directly. After some back and forth, he proceeds to tell us that he sold these properties so we won’t have to deal with it…! This place and it’s management is unbelievably callus, and for a lack of better words, heartless and greedy. I would never recommend this dude or his properties to anyone!

The worst rental experience no grace even if you been there over a year. Not allowed to contact landlord but the person in the office power trips with constant threats of starting the eviction process even after multiple attempts to work things out. They also expect you to pay an attorney fee if they start the eviction process that never would and should not begin if tenant pays rent with late fee.

I have been renting here for 4 years and I love it! The office manager, Lindsay, and the maintenance man, Nick, have been more accommodating than I could ever hope for! I am grateful to have such a great place to live!
